A recent intralipid infusion method widely used in health care involves giving the patient an intravenous dose of a lipid emulsion mainly containing soybean oil, egg phospholipids and glycerine (1.2% egg yolk
phospholipids, 10% soybean oil, 2.25% glycerine and water). It was initially created to provide people unable to swallow food orally with nutrients and energy. The infusion is administered intravenously through a vein in either the hand or the arm. However, its prospective advantages in the field of IVF have aroused curiosity.
The effectiveness of intralipid infusion as an additional treatment in IVF is still being studied. According to some research, it might be advantageous for women who have repeatedly had miscarriages or implantation failure. The infusion is thought to modify the immunological response, making the environment more favourable for embryo implantation.
At W1 clinic we run a dedicated infusion service where our experienced infusion nurses carry out treatments for our own patients, walk-in patients (with prescription) and patients referred by other medical establishments and doctors.
